What to eat and not to eat on the paleo diet

Meals avoided in paleo diet
  • Anything with gluten
  • Grains and cereals (maize, wheat, barley, oats, quinoa, etc.)
  • Legumes (lentils, beans)
  • Refined sugar and artificial sweeteners. (Agave nectar, stevia white powder, anything containing corn syrup, high fructose, aspartame, splenda)
  • Pasteurized milk
  • Vegetable oils (corn, canola, soy, vegetable oil, etc.)
  • Hydrogenated fats
  • Chemically altered fats (anything that says "reduced fat," "fat-free", etc.)
  • Condiments such as mayonnaise and ketchup with added sugar, preservatives, chemicals and genetically modified ingredients.
  • Foods with added sugar (there are cases that even the coconut milk yogurt comes with very many sugar! That also includes ice cream and desserts)
  • Highly processed meats and poultry with antibiotics, hormones, containing MSG.
  • Almond Milk containing refined sugars, preservatives, carrageenan and other artificial ingredients.
  • Juices / Juice powder dyes and artificial ingredients
  • Fast food
Acceptable foods in the paleo diet
  • Carnes
  • Mariscos (seafood)
  • Eggs
  • Green leafy vegetables
  • Plants generally
  • Tubers and root vegetables
  • Herbs
  • Fruits in moderation
  • Nuts in moderation
  • Good fats like coconut oil, olive oil cold pressed.
  • Almond milk, coconut and other seeds.
Acceptable foods in moderation 
  • Raw honey, maple syrup, stevia unprocessed.
  • Chocolate black organic
  • Cocoa powder
  • Only in cases where the person tolerates lactose: milk and organic dairy products and raw (unpasteurized) of grazing animals.
